Welcome Home
I'm Sherisse', and I'm so glad you're here.
Home & Fed is where you'll find recipes that actually work, real talk about feeding your people, and permission to embrace the beautiful mess of everyday cooking. This isn't about perfection—it's about creating homes where comfort lives, one meal at a time.
Pull up a chair. There's always room at this table.
What You'll Find Here
Recipes that actually work. No fussy techniques or impossible-to-find ingredients. Just real food that tastes like home—the kind of cooking that makes people feel loved.
Honest stories about life in the kitchen. The wins, the fails, the Tuesday night scrambles, and the Sunday suppers that linger for hours. I'll tell you the truth about feeding people—the messy, beautiful, exhausting, joyful truth of it all.
Permission to be imperfect. Your pie crust doesn't have to be flawless. Your homemade tortillas don't have to be perfect circles (I'm still figuring that out). Your dinner table doesn't need fresh flowers. You don't have to make everything from scratch. What matters is that everyone at your table feels fed—in every sense of the word.
A place that feels like home. Because that's what this is, really. A gathering place. A kitchen table you can always pull up to. A reminder that comfort isn't just a feeling—it's something you can create, one meal at a time.
A Note About My Recipes
I mostly use a kitchen scale to make my recipes, and I highly recommend you do too—especially for baking.
Why? Because using the metric system (grams instead of cups) means you'll get the same results I do, every single time. No more wondering if you packed your flour too tightly or scooped your sugar wrong. A gram is a gram, and that consistency is what takes the guesswork out of baking. Trust me—once you start weighing your ingredients, you'll never go back.
A Little About Me
I've spent years learning what it really means to feed people—not just filling plates, but creating moments of comfort and connection that turn a house into a home.
When I left my corporate marketing job to go full-time freelance during COVID, something shifted. Suddenly, I had time—time to cook, time to experiment, time to remember why I fell in love with feeding people in the first place.
I learned to cook from my mother and grandmother, women who understood that the best meals aren't the fanciest ones—they're the ones that make people feel cared for and safe.
"You have a seat at my table, which has been shaped by every place I've traveled and every person who's welcomed me into their kitchen."
That's why I created Home & Fed—a place where real food, honest stories, and beautiful imperfection come together to remind us that when you're home, you're fed in every sense of the word.
